Principal's Welcome

Dear Greenland Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to the 2017-18 school year at the Greenland Central School. I hope this year will be an enjoyable and rewarding educational experience for all of our students, and a positive and  satisfying one for parents as well. I am excited to be joining this wonderful school community and look forward to working with you and your children!

A little bit about me; I have attended Simmons College, Walden University, and the University of New England and currently hold 3 degrees; Bachelors in History and Elementary Education,Masters of Science Education, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (C.A.G.S.) in School Leadership. I have been an educator for over 20 years and have worked in a variety of roles including; Paraprofessional, Reading Tutor, elementary Teacher, middle school Teacher, middle school Assistant Principal, elementary Assistant Principal, and elementary Principal. In addition, I am married to my husband Tony and have a 19 year old daughter who attends Clarkson University. We have two cats (George Hallee and Milly-Mae). My experience in these roles has provided me with a foundation that allows me to see the many sides of situations and be able to work through whatever comes my way.

The quality of the educational experience for each student is greatly enhanced when the school, the parents, and the student have a mutually supportive and cooperative working relationship. In order to support this; I operate with an open door” policy. I try to make myself available to students, staff, and parents whether it is within or outside the confines of the school day. Feel free to reach out to me throughout the year. We at GCS want to make sure we provide all students with a safe, appropriate and challenging environment for learning. I am looking forward to having a fabulous year with you!
