Principal's Welcome

Dear Greenland Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to the 2021-22 school year at the Greenland Central School. We have adjusted our Covid Plan and will be implementing safety protocols again this year. One important difference to note is that students will be able to mix cohorts when they are outdoors. This will enable them to interact with students outside of their homerooms. I am certain we will continue to face challenges brought on by the pandemic throughout the year. However, as we have proven in the past, our COMMUNITY will rise up and be successful.

The extraordinary GCS staff will continue work hard to maintain an enjoyable and rewarding educational experience for all of our students. In addition, they will be here to support our students' social emotional well-being. At the start of the year, teachers and staff will be reviewing expectations with the children.

We hope to provide a positive and satisfying experience for parents as well. The quality of the educational experience for each student is greatly enhanced when the school, the parents, and the student have a mutually supportive and cooperative working relationship. Please thoroughly review our handbook, COVID Plan, newsletters, and other materials that we send you throughout the year. These have been developed in an effort to provide open communication and students with a safe and appropriate environment for learning.

I encourage all parents to be active and well informed about school through avenues such as attending our School Board meetings, the Greenland Parent Organization events and meetings, parent conferences, viewing the school website, and reading our News from the School Office that will be sent out weekly with important information.

If you have questions at any time, please don't hesitate to contact the school office, any staff member or me directly at 431-6723.
