Long Term Subs, Special Education Paraprofessionals & Athletic Director
Greenland Central School is seeking two dedicated, student-centered educators to serve as Long-Term Substitutes in Grade 3 and Grade 4 this fall. Greenland Central School is seeking Special Education Paraprofessionals and Registered Behavioral Technicians. Qualified candidates should have a growth mindset. It is preferred that candidates also have an understanding of child development and trauma informed instruction.
Greenland Central School is also seeking an Athletic Director for 2026 - 2027. This is a stipend position for $6,000. This position will provide overall leadership and coordination among the various sports and to facilitate a comprehensive athletic program to serve the interests and needs of the students.
During the month of June 5th graders have been learning all about pill and sow bug anatomy, behavior and the benefits they provide to soil. Each lesson involved a STEM challenge, examples include building a habitat, a model that curls into a ball, and a pill bug race track. Upon completion students released the pill and sow bugs into the Garden of Learning.

Our kindergarteners had their last day of school on Monday. They celebrated last week with a parking lot party full of bikes, scooters, sidewalk chalk, and bubbles! We wish them all a wonderful summer!

Our GCS Class of 2026 enjoyed a wonderful graduation ceremony this week. We celebrated our 8th graders, sharing accolades and memories of their time here. We are so proud of our graduates and wish them every success as they move on to high school.

Come visit our new Story Walk! This trimester’s Woodshop class constructed a story walk, and Library Helpers collaborated to deconstruct and laminate books to fill each of the 15 stations around the GCS campus.

This week we celebrated reading at our Annual Reading Carnival! Thanks to all the families, volunteers, Greenland Parent Organization and staff members who have made this event a huge success, year after year.
As part of the mathematical unit on probability, student teams designed, built, and calculated the theoretical probability of winning a carnival game. Then, they invited younger elementary students to play the games and win prizes. They tracked experimental probability against their original calculations - bringing mathematics to life!
