Mandy Murphy

An educator for over twenty years as an elementary classroom teacher, professional development instructor, middle school counselor, assistant principal, coach, and principal, I love what I do and enjoy all the ways my work makes me a better person. I am also an over-the-moon mother of two kiddos and wife to a supportive, always makes me laugh, kind husband, and parent of two boxers.

One of the best things about being a Principal and working with students, staff and community members is the opportunity to do what I do best - COLLABORATE! I am an identical twin, which I think is why collaborating is one of my favorite things to do. Growing up - I had no choice!! 🤪 I have fun and learn so much working alongside others.

I feel extremely fortunate to be joining the GCS Viking community. I am grateful for all the welcome and support I have already received since coming on board. So many have told me what a wonderful place Greenland is to work and belong - I can already see why! As a new member of this community, my first priority is to connect with people. I want to honor perspectives, hear stories of what has been and get excited about what can be. I plan to focus on the human side of this job and work to build a strong foundation of trust and collaboration.

Lauren Teeden has proudly served the Greenland Central School community for the past 12 years. As the Curriculum Coordinator & Assistant Principal, Lauren works closely with our team of educators to ensure that our curriculum is consistent, high-quality, and aligned with educational standards across all grade levels. She provides coaching, training, and resources to support teachers and enhance student learning. Lauren also coordinates our school-wide multi-tiered system of support (MTSS), facilitates the use of student data to drive informed decisions, and promotes cross-department collaboration to create a more cohesive and effective educational experience.

Abby Hood serves as the Special Education Coordinator at Greenland Central School. With experience as a paraprofessional, special education teacher, assistant principal, and special education administrator, she brings a deep understanding of the systems and supports that students need. Abby collaborates openly with educators, families, and community partners to simplify and clarify the special education process, making it more manageable and transparent while keeping students' needs at the heart of every decision.

Abby believes that real inclusion goes beyond putting students in the classroom. It's about making sure each child feels seen, valued, and genuinely part of the school community. Abby welcomes families to reach out at any time to share their child's strengths, hopes, or concerns. Together, she looks forward to creating a school where every student feels a sense of belonging and can thrive.
